Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is advanced technology utilized to create high-resolution 3D images of the body. CBCT systems are used in dentistry and maxillofacial imaging as well as other medical and industrial applications. Briarcliff Dental Care’s CBCT system provides detailed images of the head and neck that are not possible with traditional 2D X-ray technology. The images can be used to diagnose and treat a variety of issues including: tooth decay, bone loss and periodontal disease, dental abscesses and tumors. Images also includes information about anatomy and nerve location.

This technology is utilized by our oral surgeons and dental team for guided implant surgeries. The 3D images are combined with CEREC intra-oral scans to plan surgeries well in advance of the procedure. A 3D printed surgical guide is fabricated with information including implant depth, angulation and ideal positioning. Guided surgeries reduce complications, increase accuracy and allow for more complicated surgeries.

Sprint Ray 3D Printer

The SprintRay 3D Printer is a state-of-the-art dental printer which is a powerful and versatile part of our lab. This printer creates a variety of detailed 3D objects. It is a professional grade 3D printer that is capable of producing high-quality prints in a wide range of materials.

The technology is located in our in-office dental laboratory and will make fully customized: implant stents for guided surgeries, night guards, study models, clear aligners, and retainers. Having the capability right in the office gives the team more control over fabrication as well as shortens production time.

CEREC Crowns, and Same Day Crowns

Briarcliff Dental Care is a select digital dental practice that has made the investment in the CEREC Intra-oral scanner and production mill. Dental crowns, implant crowns, inlays, onlays and bridges are common dental restorations used to restore teeth to their natural form and beauty after having been damaged due to decay, tooth loss or injury. These restorations were historically made of all metal or porcelain glued on top of metal. CEREC crowns are all porcelain restorations that are strong, very esthetic and able to restore function. Briarcliff Dental Care scans, designs and mills these restorations in office.

The process begins with a comprehensive evaluation and consultation with one of our talented dentists. We utilize advanced examination techniques with digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras and clinical evaluation. If it is determined a crown, implant crown, bridge, inlay or onlay is indicated, all options are discussed and the best treatment is presented and discussed.

You are made comfortable and numb, the tooth or teeth are shaped to very specified dimensions and our CEREC scanner captures all of the information. There is no “goopy” impression material. If the crown is made the same day, you will wait in the room while the restoration is designed and milled in the office. If the restoration will be delivered on a different day, a temporary restoration is fabricated. The final step is cementation and any fine adjustment. You now have a high quality, esthetic, custom restoration make right in Briarcliff Dental Care’s lab.

Gemini Dental Laser

Briarcliff Dental Care utilizes a dual wavelength dental laser for multiple procedures and optimal dental care. The laser treats for many soft tissue conditions including apthous ulcers (canker sores) and herpetic lesions. The laser is very “kind” to the oral tissue and allows for quicker healing and less post-operative sensitivity. The laser is also used for soft tissue biopsies, gingivectomies, crown lengthening, frenectomies, cleaning of periodontal pockets, among many other procedures.
